Anatomy students were given choice activities involving the endocrine system. The work below was made using Make Beliefs Comix. Students were assigned a patient experiencing certain symptoms. They used pedigree analysis, blood typing, gel electrophoresis, and karyotyping to discover make a diagnosis. Anatomy students dissected sheep brains in conclusion of our unit. Students modeled the process of DNA replication by constructing a DNA helix, then replicating it. Anatomy students explained the mechanism behind the neuro-muscular junction and the action potential it creates. Students created models of cells using various things. Some students created their cells in Mine Craft and some students made actual models. Below is an explanation of a eukaryotic cell along with analogies.
Students observed different cell types through the microscopes and added the photos to their Book Creator where they are keeping track of their learning. Students in Anatomy and Physiology constructed a 3-d model of long bone anatomy using food. The videos below were taken using Explain Everything to allow them to show what they know.
