Welcome!
Where do proteins come from?
In previous units we've learned how important proteins are, but how do they get made? In this unit you will learn how DNA, the blueprint for life, codes for a messenger molecule called messenger RNA. This molecule leaves the nucleus and arrives at the ribosome to be translated so that it can build an amino acid chain which is then folded and folded some more to eventually become the structure you recognize as a protein.
I hope you enjoy your intracellular journey.
Good luck on your quest!
