Task 4
Complete this virtual lab. Click on Explore the Tug of War(ter) to get to the lab. Be sure to record the data in your CJs from the data table at the bottom of the page. Answer the interactive questions after the lab.
Task 5
Finish up your lab. Your egg should have soaked a day. Be sure to record your observations in your book. Answer the remaining questions from your lab hand-out.
- Construct a graph of your data; include this in your book. If you're feeling fancy you can construct your graph using the Numbers app.
- Write an analysis of your data. Explain why the outcome makes sense based on what we have learned so far about cell transport.
- How do your results relate to real-life situations either in the human body or nature?
- How could you reverse your results?
- What substance could you soak your egg in to return it to its normal size and shape?
- What do other groups eggs look like? Why were theirs similar or different?
Task 6
Construct a model of a cell membrane and demonstrate active transport, diffusion, and facilitated diffusion.
